A birthday, an engagement, and a wedding!

A birthday, an engagement, and a wedding!

Today is the last day of my week off work, so I thought I'd do a little round up of what we've got up to this week.

Every year, my fiancé and I take the same week off for annual leave as it is slap bang in the middle of our birthdays. We decided we couldn't afford a holiday this year, we are saving for our wedding, so it was all about finding things to do close to home!

My birthday was on the Saturday. We went bowling and then out for a lovely meal. Once again, I lost at bowling - all 4 games that we played! Dinner was at the Cosy Club and it was DELICIOUS! I had halloumi fries to start, duck confit and dauphinoise potatoes for main, and a salted caramel cheesecake for dessert! It was so yummy!

On Sunday we went for a BBQ at my in-laws. I caught the sun and have ended up with some dodgy AF t-shirt lines - which was not good when I had 2 big events coming up!

On Monday, I was treated to a pedicure as my birthday present. I'd wanted a pedicure for ages and to get my nails painted properly, so it was lovely to have a bit of a pamper session!

On Wednesday, it was our Engagement photoshoot with our wedding photographer. He throws in a free shoot with every wedding package so we can all get to know each other, and get comfortable in front of the camera ahead of our big day! We chose this week as it is 1 year since we got engaged, and 1 year to go until the wedding day! We had so much fun and the photos are incredible!! It took us a few goes to loosen up in front of the camera, but we got there in the end. It was a golden hour shoot, and we are so pleased with the photos taken!

On Friday, we celebrated the wedding of some of our friends - Tom and Natalie. It was a gorgeous evening and her dress was STUNNING! It is making me more and more excited for our own wedding next year. I had to quickly buy a new dress for this evening as my original dress showed my dodgy sun tan off way too much - haha! A quick purchase on ASOS and thankfully it arrived on time and fit perfectly!

The other days, we just relaxed, caught up on the house work, and watched plenty of TV!

I'm sad it's the end of my week off now though. I have no more planned time off until Christmas now, so it's going to be a struggle to keep the motivation up, but I'm sure I will be able to figure out a few days off here and there between now and then to relax.

Hope you're all enjoying the summer so far! It's been lovely getting some fresh air and Vitamin D!

Love, Charlie xx
